Dr. Baird will be reading from her translated book, Encoger el Monstruo de los Miedos, at Bellingham’s Village Books—Open Mic Night on Monday 5/30 at 6 pm. She has been hard at work on the translation, but it is finally done! You can attend her reading by zoom or in-person. Click here to preregister for the Spanish reading at 6 pm (and the English reading at 7 pm).

As you may remember from the English version (Shrinking the Worry Monster, A Kid’s Guide for Saying Goodbye to Worries), Worry Monster has been whispering mean things to kids and making them feel terrible. Now it is up to Brooklyn and Jackson to discover the monster’s secret–and stop him!

This delightful story has research-based strategies that kids and parents can use to overcome worry and fear. Of course, the same introduction and appendices that help overcome childhood anxiety are in the Spanish version.

Hope you can attend!

Dr. Sally Baird is a retired child psychologist and children’s book author. The full title of the Spanish book is Encoger el Monstruo de los Miedos, Una guia para los ninos que quieren despedirse de sus miedos. Both English and Spanish books are available at Village Books or wherever books are sold. She can be scheduled for events for parents and children on anxiety and sleep concerns.
